Every year, the Department of Education releases this report that explains federal financial assistance for college. The Guide to Federal Student Aid includes descriptions of the loans and grants that are available and instructions on applying. The report is also available in Spanish and in PDF format.

Children's Well-Being
The Forum on Child and Family Statistics releases an annual report on the well-being of America's children. The report presents key indicators in seven domains: family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health. The report presents 41 key indicators on important aspects of children's lives.

International Comparisons
Did you ever wonder how the education system in our country stacks up against the other G-8 nations? This study from the National Center for Education Statistics shows how the United States compares to Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Russian Federation and the United Kingdom in terms of indicators in five subjects: population and student enrollment; academic performance; context for learning; expenditure for education; and education returns or educational attainment and income.
